Over the decades, lots of aircraft's and fighter jet have been abandoned at their various crash site due to reason not visible to people but the owners alone. Some of the reason an aircraft can remain abandon at crash site could be the cost of transporting them or probably some of them are beyond repair.

Let's take a look at some the aircraft and their crash site below;

This B-24A-CO Liberator was found abandoned on Atka Island. The aircraft had to take a forced landing in 1942. In 1975 the US Navy removed it’s machine guns.

This aircraft was discovered by a drone flying over the area. It’s located on an airfield in Bryson City, NC.

Columbian Narcoplane
This was a Columbian Narcoplane that was shot down by the Mexican Army. It crashed 15-20 years ago in Mazunte, Mexico.

C-54
This C-54 was found abandoned in Ganes Creek Alaska. The plane was forced to take an emergency landing.

C-121 Lockheed Constellation

 This abandoned C-121 Lockheed Constellation was named “Pegasus”. The plane was discovered in Pegasus Field in South Antartica.
Bell P39Q Airacobra
This Bell P39Q Airacobra was discovered in the bottom of Lake Mart-Yavr in the Russian Arctic Circle in 2004. The pilot of this plane was forced to make a forced landing in the lake.


Soviet Ilyushin Il-76 Cargo Plane
This Soviet Ilyushin Il-76 Cargo Plane was found abandoned in the desert in Umm Al Quwain. This Cargo plane has connections with an arms dealer named Viktor Bout.

This Columbian Drug Smuggling plane was found abandoned in the Bahamas.

Airways DC-10
This abandoned World Airways DC-10 plane sits on its tail because of wet volcanic ash. The plane flew through the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption.

American B-29 Superfortress bomber
The Kee Bird was an American B-29 Superfortress bomber that became marooned after making an emergency landing in northwest Greenland during a secret Cold War spying mission in 1947. Although the entire crew was safely evacuated, after spending three days in the isolated Arctic tundra, the aircraft itself was left at the landing site.
